We are launching D-TAILS to change the way pharmacological and medical
research leads to the cure, finding disruptive technologies for the early
detection of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
Created after more than five years of work carried out by a team of scientists
belonging to CrestOptics and IIT JointLab, D-TAILS’ mission is to leap the
stash of scientific results accumulated by the JointLab’ s team to develop
actual working prototypes.
Our team is a gathering of diversified knowledge, including
Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and all Physics and Engineering skills apt to
designing and building instruments ready to be tested. Early breast and
prostate cancer through urine analysis and early Alzheimer’s Disease detection
through image analysis of the retina are the specific goal we are planning as
mid-term results.
All the experimental work is carried out in the labs we share with the
IIT-CLNS facility in Roma, close to the La Sapienza University campus.
This location allows us to be in a facility where all the specific
Instrumentation is available. Furthermore, we have the opportunity to field
exchange discussions and opinions with a top-level scientific community.
Details may change how we see a specimen enlightening a new understanding of
what it means.
D-TAILS is not just a name, but it represents how we
do our work and how we look into the experimental results.
